Considering how fast our local drivers have been this year it was no surprise that the visiting race car drivers left River Cities Speedway non victorious. Home town NLRA Late Model race car driver Joey Pederson of East Grand Forks parked his Rocket in RydellCars.com Victory Lane to claim yet another win at River Cities Speedway. Joey's victory put him into 1st place in the points race at RCS. Joey is leading the points by only 7 points. Next weeks race will be one to see as Ricky Weiss & Mike Balcaen are within reach of claiming the track championship! ![]() Dustin Strand of Grand Forks ND Late Model Feature Winner 8-10-12 Northern Late Model Feature Winner at River Cities Speedway for August 10th 2012 is #71s Dustin Strand of Grand Forks ND. Congratulations to you Dustin! Dustin is only 26 points out of first place for the points race. Dustin currently is in 5th place for points. "Hard Charger" in the Late Model Feature goes to the #10 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada Driver Mike Balcaen who started in the 12th starting position and finished 6th. ![]() #12 Brad Seng Late Model Driver - Grand Forks ND Brad Seng #12 Late Model was honored in RydelCars.com Victory Lane for his 1st place win from starting in the 4th position. Brad's best lap time was 13.678 seconds. Brad is currently 6th in points at River Cities Speedway! The fastest Late Model on the track was #11 Troy Schill at a lap time of 13.293 seconds. Troy led the feature for many laps until getting caught up in lapped traffic. The Late Model "Hard Charger" goes to Joey Pederson who started 7th and finished 3rd. Joey's best lap time was 13.713 seconds. The points race is super close and competitive as there is less than 40 points separating the top 6 drivers. #7 Ricky Weiss of Hedingley MB Canada won the feature race at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on July 20th 2012. Ricky is in first place in points as well in the Late Model class and Joey Pederson is only 7 points behind and Mike Balcaen is only 10 points out of the lead. On Friday night of July 13th 2012 #29 Darrell Lanigan passed #44 Clint Smith on the last lap on the last corner of a 50 lap World of Outlaw Feature race at "The Bullring". Lanigan squeaked out a 0.24 second victory over smith to make it the closest victory in World of Outlaw racing history since electronic scoring has been in place. River Cities Speedway now holds 3 official World of Outlaw records... |
