Lightning Sprints Feature Results Sept 14th 2012Add Comment  Wally Butler of Winnipeg Manitoba Canada RCS Feature Winner 8-10-12 The "Hard Charger" of the night for the Lightning Sprints started in 7th position and also won the feature race. Congrats to Wally Butler of Winnipeg Manitoba for being the "Hard Charger" & "The Bullring" River Cities Speedway Feature Race WINNER! Friday Night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks ND the "Lightning Sprint Cars" came to The Bullring and they put on one heck of a show for the fans. Especially when the only female driver in the field had the fastest lap times of all the divers at the track on Friday. #10 Amber Balcaen with her dad Mike Balcaen - Photo by Rick Rea Amber turned the fastest lap time of the night at 13.307 seconds. Amber ran this lap on the 3rd lap of her heat. Click here for the official lap speed. Amber is in her 4th season of racing and according to her dad has only ran about 40 shows so far. Amber is really fast for not having a lot of seat time yet, but racing is in Amber's blood. Many may not know that he has been racing for 29 years and has just accomplished what many have not by winning 200 feature wins (SO FAR). Mike races Late Model Race Cars weekly in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada where the Balcaen's call home as well as River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks North Dakota.  Amber Balcaen getting strapped in. Yes, Lou Kennedy is Amber's Grandfather and Lou Kennedy Jr is her uncle, who has been National 360 Sprint Car Champion. With all that racing in Amber's family we know she is one to watch and is a must see where ever she races. Way to go Amber!
