Sprint Car Driver Amber Balcaen Had Fastest Lap Time of All Drivers at River Cities Speedway on Friday June 29th in Grand Forks ND

Friday Night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks ND the "Lightning Sprint Cars" came to The Bullring and they put on one heck of a show for the fans. Especially when the only female driver in the field had the fastest lap times of all the divers at the track on Friday.

Amber turned the fastest lap time of the night at 13.307 seconds. Amber ran this lap on the 3rd lap of her heat. Click here for the official lap speed.

Amber is in her 4th season of racing and according to her dad has only ran about 40 shows so far. Amber is really fast for not having a lot of seat time yet, but racing is in Amber's blood.

Many fans may know that Amber's dad is Late Model Race Car Driver Mike Balcaen. Many may not know that he has been racing for 29 years and has just accomplished what many have not by winning 200 feature wins (SO FAR). Mike races Late Model Race Cars weekly in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada where the Balcaen's call home as well as River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks North Dakota.

What many fans do not know is Amber's mom is a Kennedy from the famous Sprint Car racing family of Lou Kennedy. Yes, Lou Kennedy is Amber's Grandfather and Lou Kennedy Jr is her uncle, who has been National 360 Sprint Car Champion.

With all that racing in Amber's family we know she is one to watch and is a must see where ever she races. Way to go Amber!
