Grand Forks, ND August 31, 2013 ~ And now the announcement many have been holding their breath since Friday night for. After all the results were carefully audited, 3 new track points champions were crowned, as the Wissota points come to a close for 2013 this weekend. Your River Cities Speedway Points Champions are...
Wissota Street Stock
Jordan Duray (81) looked like he was out to steal the points season in Friday's A-main. Some drivers had a touchy night on the track. Johnson would hold on to finish 6th, with Duray finishing 4th. only a single point gain for Duray on Johnson. Johnson comes out on top by 12 markers and Blacklance finished 29 points back. COMPLETE POINTS
Wissota Midwest Modifieds
The points night started out real close. Three points separated Tyler Peterson (1TPO) and Rich Pavlicek (17p) But Friday something was just a little different. First off the track was tacky for the 3rd week in a row, which affected drivers through all the classes. Still, The difference was Pavlicek was not in his own car. Pavlicek had issues with his 17P Skyrocket chassis and opted to debut fellow competitor and friend, Mike Anderson's #18 Anderson Properties Modified at The Legendary Bullring to finish out the points run. Peterson finishes the season 11 points ahead of Pavlicek. COMPLETE POINTS
Wissota Late Models
In racing some things are like life, they were just meant to be. Well Friday night's run for Joey Peterson (7p) somehow worked out even though track conditions were a little moist for his liking. Peterson had wished that the final points night for Wissota Late Models would have been closer for him and Brad Seng (12s). Seng apparently missed the setup most likely anticipating a cap over to dry slick conditions instead of a tacky track. With Peterson finishing 2nd in the A-Main that sealed the deal on the 2013 River Cities Speedway Late Model points championship. COMPLETE POINTS
