Mark Dobmeier and Dexter Dvergsten continued their winning ways at River Cities Speedway Saturday night with Dobmeier winning in the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints and Dvergsten winning both Lightning Sprint features including the May 17th makeup to move on top of the all-time Lightning Sprint wins at the Bullring. Wade Nygaard, running in just his second feature since 2022 at River Cities in Shane Roemeling's Forks Finest Auto Body No. 31, started on the pole of the 25-lap main event with Zach Omdahl to his outside.
Nygaard took the lead at the drop of the green as Gage Pulkrabek and Jack Croaker battled for third. Just a few laps into the race eighth starting Mark Dobmeier made his way into the top five as Pulkrabek and Omdahl swapped second and third. Pulkrabek won that battle as Dobmeier followed him into third before Nygaard spun in turn three to bring out the first caution which gave the lead to Pulkrabek. Nick Omdahl replaced cousin Zach in the top three as the race got back underway as Dobmeier stalked Pulkrabek for the top spot. With 14 to go the leaders started working traffic allowing Dobmeier to roar around Pulkrabek's outside in turn three to take the lead. With seven to go, Blake Egeland lost a right rear tire and went for a tumble off the fourth turn but exited his car ok. On the restart Gage Pulkrabek lost his second place run when he slipped off the top of the third turn. Dobmeier held off Jade Hastings and Nick Omdahl in the final seven laps to sweep the weekend at River Cities. Brendan Mullen and Canadian Kelly Miller completed the top five. Matthew and Kate Taves brought the first of the two Lightning Sprint features to green but the Detroit Lakes siblings were quickly joined by Dexter Dvergsten to battle for the lead. Dvergsten took the point on the second lap and began to pull away. The Taves' continued their battle for the second spot as the leaders continued to work traffic in the laps before the midway point. Dylan Langevin joined the Taves and had taken the second spot before a lap eight caution. A second caution one lap later kept the field bunched together but it was Matthew Taves and Langevin resuming their battle for second with ten to go. The pair remained side-by-side for second as Dvergsten continued to lead with five to go. Matt Taves eventually won the battle for second as Dvergsten continued on to victory. Langevin, Kate Taves, and Kelsi Pederson completed the top five. Dvergsten's first win of the night was his 17th career win at the Bullring which broke a tie with Darren Pallen for the most Mini/Lightning Sprint wins at the track all-time. One hour later the Lightning Sprint make-up feature from May 17th capped off the night with Evan Yanish and Kelsi Pederson leading the field to green. The Taves duo went four-wide with Langevin and Pederson in turn two at the start with Matt Taves going from sixth to first to lead the opening lap. Langevin and Dvergsten completed the top three early as Taves set a torrid pace out front before a lap four caution erased his advantage. The lap before the midway point saw Taves get too high in turn four and flip. He was ok but his feature win hopes were dashed. Dvergsten led on the restart as Yanish and Langevin battled for second. Langevin's night ended with nine to go as he pulled to the infield as Dvergsten pulled away by a straightaway. Kate Taves and Kelsi Pederson went side-by-side for third in the closing laps as Dvergsten went on to win his second feature in over an hour over Yanish, Taves, Pederson, and Hayeden Koehmstedt. Racing action continues Friday night as the World of Outlaws Case Construction Late Models make their yearly trip to the Bullring. They will be joined by the Happy Harry's WISSOTA Midwest Mods and the Big Al's Construction WISSOTA Street Stocks for a seven o'clock start. 410 SPRINTS - WINGED A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 13JT-Mark Dobmeier[8]; 2. 8H-Jade Hastings[9]; 3. 0-Nick Omdahl[4]; 4. 11M-Brendan Mullen[6]; 5. 2JR-Kelly Miller[11]; 6. 27-Weston Olson[18]; 7. 52-Adam Sobolik[14]; 8. 31-Wade Nygaard[1]; 9. 74N-Luke Nellis[15]; 10. 15-Laela Eisenschenk[7]; 11. 1-Amelia Eisenschenk[10]; 12. 4-Colton Young[12]; 13. 8-Jack Croaker[5]; 14. 84-Joshua Johnson[21]; 15. 78-Bill Wagner[16]; 16. 50-Brad Flaten[19]; 17. 25-Jerzee Rosinski[20]; 18.
