Strand, Imrie, Stenberg, and Hess Also Winners In a moment you couldn't script and have play out if you tried it 99 out of 100 times, Jade Hastings won the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car feature Friday night at the Bullring carrying the colors of one of the nights Hall of Fame inductees Mike Johnson and his car owner Jeff Leebrick who passed away two weeks ago. Dustin Strand remained hot winning his sixth Cirrus Aircraft NLRA Late Model feature with Ward Imrie winning the WISSOTA Modified feature. Reise Stenberg won his first Happy Harry's Midwest Modified feature of the season while Trey Hess won via a last lap pass to win the Big Al's Construction main event. Jack Croaker and Zach Omdahl led the NOSA Sprint feature to green as both drivers were looking for their first career victory. Croaker jumped out to the early lead with Omdahl in second and Jade Hastings in third. Croaker led the opening lap and pulled to about a ten-car length lead as Hastings looked to the inside of Omdahl for the second spot.
The pair remained side-by-side on the third lap before the first caution flag of the race flew. Hastings took second on the restart while Croaker continued to lead. Andy Pake followed Hastings into the third spot while Croaker was again out in front of the field by about ten car lengths. Croaker started working lap traffic on the tenth lap but continued to lead at this point by nearly a straight away as he made traffic work well for him. Caution number two on the sixth lap put Croaker and Hastings on the front row of the second double file restart of the race. On the restart, Pake and Omdahl made contact with Omdahl going over the top of the second turn ending his night. The contact on the double file restart set up a single file restart. Hastings remained within striking distance of Croaker as he moved to his outside in a battle for the lead. Hastings took the lead off of the top a turn two on lap number eight while Mark Dobmeier moved past Pake for third. Dobmeier then executed a slide job on Croaker to move to the second spot as Hastings started to work lap traffic on lap nine. Caution number three saw Hastings and Dobmeier lineup on the front row of the double file restart. Hastings chose the outside and continued to hold the lead in traffic at the midway Point. Dobmeier had closed to within five car lengths of Hastings with nine to go as Hastings had to abandon the top to lap a pair of lapped cars. Going into turn one with eight to go, Hastings jumped over the cushion allowing Dobmeier to lead for about 30 feet before he slipped over the top of turn two, bringing out the final caution of the race. This set up the final single file restart of the race giving Hastings clean air to work with and immediately pulling to ten car lengths over Croaker, Pake, and Nick Omdahl who went three wide for the second spot. In the closing laps, a four-car battle for the second spot saw Pake take the runner-up spot over Omdahl, Dobmeier, and Croaker. Hastings continued on for the victory over Pake, Nick Omdahl, Dobmeier, and Croaker. Tom Corcoran and John Seng led the field to green in the 20-lap Cirrus Aircraft Late Model main event but it was Brody Troftgruben moving past Seng in the opening lap to take the second spot as Corcoran led lap one. Following a caution on the second lap, Seng and Troftgruben went side-by-side with Seng, taking the second spot back, though the pair went door-to-door for the position. On lap three, Troftgruben regained the runner-up spot exiting the second turn on the high side. Caution number two on lap four saw Seng and Troftgruben resume their battle for the runner-up spot while Corcoran continued to lead. Troftgruben started to reel in Corcoran on lap five and Joey Pederson and Dustin Strand battled with Seng for the third spot. Strand took third at the end of lap six while Corcoran and Troftgruben went door-to-door in a battle for the top spot. Lap eight saw the battle for the lead become a three-car battle as Strand reeled in both Corcoran and Troftgruben. Strand searched from high to low as he remained a close third as Corcoran and Troftgruben remained door-To-door for a number of laps until Troftgruben took the lead at the midway point. With both the top two drivers moving to the bottom side of the race track, Strand then started moving forward, running the top side of the quarter-mile, taking second from Corcoran with nine to go. With lapped cars running the bottom with five to go, Troftgruben had to abandon the top side. Strand with the diamond off the exit of turn two took the lead coming off of turn four with four to go. From there, Troftgruben was held up in lapped traffic as Strand continued on to the victory over Troftgruben, Corcoran, Ryan Kereluk, and Joey Pederson. Mike Tiani and Tim Thomas brought the 20-lap WISSOTA Modified feature to green which, save for a caution on the initial start, the race went green-to-checkered. At the end of the opening lap, Jason Beaulieu cut between both the front row starters to take the lead while Thomas went three-wide with Ward Imrie and Rick Delaine before Imrie went three-wide with Thomas and Tiani to move from fifth to second on the second lap. On lap four, Imrie moved to the inside of Beaulieu for the first time as the pair battled for the lead. Though the pair remained side-by-side for a number of laps, Beaulieu was able to pull away again on lap seven, pulling by about five car lengths. Beaulieu started working lap traffic just past the midway point which allowed Imrie to close back in once again. Imrie pulled to the inside for the lead on the exit of four with eight to go and, in the next trip through turns one and two, Imrie took the lead on the bottom at the end of the 14th lap. Imrie was not slowed in traffic in the last handful laps as he continued on to the victory over Beaulieu, Dustin Strand, Preston Carr, and Rick Delaine. Riese Stenberg and Taylor Jacobson made up the front row at the beginning of the 20-lap Happy Harry's Midwest Modified feature. Stenberg led from the outset as Lance Schill, MaKenna Romuld and Matt Schow battled for the third spot. A caution on lap two put Schill to Jacobson's outside as Stenberg led the field back to green. Schill took second on the restart with Jacobson holding off Matt Schow in the battle for third. Schow and Jacobson's battle remained the best on the track through the midway point as the pair went side-by-side on a number of occasions for that third spot while Stenberg pulled to a straightaway lead. The final caution with three to go erased Stenberg's advantage and saw Schill and Schow lineup behind him for the final Delaware restart of the race. Schow moved to the inside of Schill at the end of lap. The pair continued to wage war for the position which was all that Stenberg needed to regain his near straightaway advantage, winning over Schow, Jacobson, Jamie Dietzler, and Austin Hunter. James Meagher and Greg Jose led the 20-lap, Big Al's Construction Street Stock feature to the green. Those two went four wide with Seth Klostreich and Cole Greseth exiting turn two on the opening lap. The quartet ran out of real estate which saw Jose spin off of the top of the back stretch after contact with John Halvorson, bringing out the first caution of the night in feature competition. Meagher and Jose made up the front row on the ensuing restart with the front four going four wide again at the exit of turn two but this time it was Klostreich taking the lead over Greseth and Meagher. From there, it was seventh starting Trey Hess that moved into the third spot on lap three. From there, Hess went to work on Greseth in hopes of taking the second spot. While Hess tried to track down Greseth, he went side-by-side on a number of circuits with Weston Ramsrud before. The latter got loose on the eighth lap and was hit by John Halvorson, ending Halvorson's race. Ramsrud returned from the work area and the race went back green with Hess taking the second spot on the restart and bringing Braden Brauer with him into second. The final caution with eight to go saw Hess and Brauer line up side-by-side as Klostreich brought the field back to green. Hess fought off all of Brauer’s pass attempts in the closing laps as the lead trio made it a three-car battle for the win. in the final. two trips around the Bullring. The trio went three-wide again in turns three and four on the final lap with Hess using the bottom to get to the checkers first over Brauer, Klostreich, Bryce Reimer, and Weston Ramsrud, who returned from the work area to finish fifth. Racing action continues next Friday night with the Premier Racing Series being joined by the WISSOTA Modifieds again and Annual Lightning Sprint Nationals as the NOSA Sprints will have the week off. 16 entries 410 Sprints - Winged A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 8H-Jade Hastings[3]; 2. 64-Andy Pake[4]; 3. 0-Nick Omdahl[6]; 4. 13JT-Mark Dobmeier[7]; 5. 8-Jack Croaker[1]; 6. 26-Blake Egeland[14]; 7. 4-Colton Young[9]; 8. 52-Adam Sobolik[10]; 9. 41T-Travis Strandell[5]; 10. 50-Brad Flaten[12]; 11. 22-Tanner Wisk[11]; 12. 25-Jerzee Rosinski[16]; 13. 49-Kim Young[13]; 14.
