Strand Wins Fifth Late Model Feature; Blacklance, Lizakowski, and Wahl also winners July’s racing action at the Bullring is in the books as five drivers found their way to Rydellcars.com victory lane Friday evening during the annual Big Motor Mania special. Jade Hastings won his third Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car feature of the year with Dustin Strand winning his fifth Cirrus Aircraft Late Model feature of 2024. Jeremy Lizakowski won in the Western Renegade Non-Wing Sprints and was joined by Aaron Blacklance and Dustin Wahl as Wissota Modified feature winners. Parker Vilandre and Jeremy Lizakowski led the 20-lap Western Renegade feature to green. Lizakowski jumped out to the early lead over Vilandre and Tee Young. Eric Guyot was joined by the most recent Renegade winner at the Speedway Chris Lewis in challenging Vilandre and Young in a four-way battle for second.
Guyot took second with Lewis taking third as Lizakowski built a half straightaway advantage through two laps. Following a red flag on lap three, and another caution one lap later, the rest of the Renegade feature went green-to-checkered. Guyot challenged Lizakowski on the restart for the lead, but Lizakowski rebuilt his previous lead from there. Nick Shirek moved from fourth to second just before the midway point as Lewis continued on to duck to the inside of Guyot for the third spot which he took a few laps later. Lizakowski lapped through some light traffic late in the race but continued on for his second Bullring win in a Non-Wing Sprint over Nick Shirek, Chris Lewis, Eric Guyot, and Parker Vilandre. The Wissota Modifieds ran two features at the Bullring on Friday night. The first was the originally scheduled feature with the second being a make-up feature from June 14th. Ryan Schroeder and Joseph Thomas led the field to green in the first feature. Aaron Blacklance took third and immediately ducked to the inside of Schroeder for the second spot. It quickly became a three-car battle for the lead just two laps into the race with Blacklance taking second on lap three. He began to reel in Thomas for the top spot from there. The lead duo remained nose-to-tail for two laps before Blacklance took the lead on lap 7. The modified field continued to set a torrid pace, going cautionless past the halfway point when Blacklance began to work lap traffic. Joseph Thomas started to close in again in traffic with seven to go. With four to go, Thomas cut Blacklance's advantage to within five car lengths before the final caution of the race at the end of the lap. Blacklance got a great restart though Ryan Schroeder took back the second spot after he, Thomas, and seventh starting Dustin Strand battled three-wide for the second spot. Blacklance remained out front in the closing laps and continued on to victory becoming a winner in three different classes at the Bullring. Strand, Thomas, and Schroeder finished second through fourth respectively after their battle in the closing laps. Aaron Holtan was fifth. The Wayne Anderson Cup finale was next with Tom Egeland and Zach Omdahl leading the field to green. Omdahl, looking for his first win, and Egeland looking to break a years old drought fought for the lead early with Omdahl leading the opening lap. The second restart with two laps completed saw Omdahl build a three-quarter straightaway advantage over Jade Hastings. And continue to Pace the field out front. Omdahl started working traffic on lap seven while Weston Olson and Jade Hastings swapped lines in a back-and-forth contest for the second spot. At the midway point, Hastings had erased Omdahl's lead though the race-long leader continued to hold court out front. On lap 18 of the 30-lapper, Omdahl jumped over the cushion in turn three and brought out a caution, relinquishing the lead to Hastings. Hastings got a great restart while Nick Omdahl moved past Weston Olson for second. With ten to go, Hastings was already a straightaway ahead of Nick Omdahl and Olson. Hastings rode the cushion in the closing laps to continue on for his third win at the Bullring this season over Nock Omdahl, Olson, Jack Croaker, and Adam Sobolik. The NLRA late models were next for their 25-lap, $1,500-to-win feature. Tyler Peterson and Ryan Corbett made up the front row to start the race. Peterson led the opening lap over Corbett and Brad Seng. Seng took second in the following laps while Jason Strand moved into third after a good battle with Ryan Corbett on lap four. Sixth starting Dustin Strand started moving his way through the field from there, moving in on Corbett before a caution on the sixth lap. On the restart, Dustin Strand moved into fourth and ducked to the inside of Jason Strand to take the third position. Dustin Strand then hounded Brad Seng running the cushion of the high-banked quarter-mile oval, eventually taking the second spot on lap 11. With eight to go, Strand had erased Peterson's lead as they worked lapped traffic, peeking to the inside of the race-long leader with seven to go. He turns one and two. Lapped traffic initially balked Strand for a lap or two, but Strand regained his momentum while watching more traffic return the favor to Peterson with four to go. Strand came off of the cushion in turn two and beat Peterson to turn three on the inside, taking the lead at the end of lap number 22. With two to go, Strand was already a half a straightaway ahead and continued on for his fifth Bullring victory of the season, taking the NLRA point lead in the process. Tyler Peterson, Brad Seng, Jason Strand, and Ryan Corbett completed the top five. The final feature of the night was the make-up of the Modified feature rained out on June 14th. Dustin wall. Dustin wall and Davey Mills, damn it. Dustin Wahl and Davey Mills made up the front row at the start with Wahl leading the first two circuits while Mills was challenged by Rick Delaine and Ward Imrie. Imrie eventually took the second spot while Wahl continued to pace the field through five laps. Imrie closed in on Wahl from there, running the middle to the top as Imrie held court on the bottom. A caution on lap seven saw Wahl and Imrie break away from the field on the ensuing restart and continue their battle for the lead. A second caution on lap ten gave Joseph Thomas a chance to enter in a three-car battle for the top spot Wahl pulled away from both Imrie and Thomas in the first laps past the halfway mark but Imrie again pulled with three car lengths before the final caution with four to go. Wahl continued on to victory on the final restart over, winning his second feature at the Bullring this season over Imrie, Josh Beaulieu, Rick Delaine, and Davey Mills. Racing action continues next Friday night with Hall of Fame night featuring the Premier Racing Series and Wissota Modifieds making up a five-class program with racing starting at seven o’clock. 14 entries 410 Sprints - Winged A Feature 1 (30 Laps): 1. 8H-Jade Hastings[3]; 2. 0-Nick Omdahl[4]; 3. 27-Weston Olson[5]; 4. 8-Jack Croaker[6]; 5. 52-Adam Sobolik[11]; 6. 17-Zach Omdahl[1]; 7. 41T-Travis Strandell[8]; 8. 50-Brad Flaten[9]; 9. 14-Tom Egeland[2]; 10. 19B-Dustin Burke[10]; 11.
