Ferriera Wins IMCA Sprint FeatureIt was midseason track championship night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks and all three winners were frequent visitors to victory lane in the 2025 season as Cole Greseth and Dustin Strand won their fifth features so far in the WISSOTA Street Stocks and Late Models respectively while Jade Hastings and Matt Schow won their fourth features of the year in the NOSA Sprints and WISSOTA Midwest Mods. Lincoln, Nebraska’s Monty Ferriera was the winner of the first IMCA Sprint feature of the year at the Bullring. Jack Croaker and Jade Hastings were the front row starters at the beginning of the 25-lap Buffalo Wild Wing NOSA Sprint feature. Croaker led the opening lap as Hastings and Nick Omdahl went side-by-side for second.
Croaker continued to pace the field following cautions on laps five and six and was the leader on lap seven when Laela Eisenschenk flipped in turn four. Hastings took the lead on a lap eleven restart and pulled away by ten-car lengths. Hastings continued to lead following the final caution with ten circuits remaining and went on to win his fourth feature of the season at the Bullring. Croaker held off Andy Pake late in the race to finish second. Pake started 16th and finished third with Colton Young and Nick Omdahl completing the top five. Dustin Strand and Tyler Peterson made up the front row at the start of the Cirrus Aircraft Late model feature. Though it's been the ‘Strand and TPO Show’ all season at the speedway, Ryan Corbett was initially the second place runner, as he remained within striking distance of Strand in the opening laps. On lap five, Peterson took second in his battle with Corbett, allowing Strand to open a 10-car length lead before a pair of cautions on lap seven. When the race resumed, Corbett again tried to take second back from Peterson, but the latter kept the second position and began the reel in Strand at the midway. The leaders began working traffic with five to go which eventually allowed Peterson to take the lead in turn two with two to go. On the final lap, Strand used the bottom of the track and slid off the bottom of turn four with two lap cars in front to steal the win by .118 seconds. This was Strand’s fifth win in six races at the track this year and holds a 1.16 average finish, as he finished second in his only non winning performance. Shane Edginton, Brad Seng, and Tucker Pederson completed the top five. Austin Hunter and Matt Schow brought the Happy Harry’s Midwest Mod feature to green. The pair remained side-by-side for the entirety of the opening lap with Schow nosing ahead to lead the first circuit. Hunter led lap two as the pair remained door-to-door with Hunter on the inside and Schow on the outside. Schow led at lap three and was finally able to break free of Hunter and build his first lead of the race. Following a pair of cautions on lap eight, Schow continued to lead over Hunter and Frank Veert. Veert and Jory Berg swapped the third spot on each end of the cautions, but Berg fell back on in the closing laps. Schow went on to his fourth victory of the year over Hunter, Veert, Ryan Schow, and MaKenna Romuld. Marcus Rothenbacher and Monty Ferriera started on the front row in the Superior Customs IMCA Sprint Car feature. Ferriera took the lead at the drop of the green with Ty Hanten following him into second. Ferriera remained unchallenged in the first half of the race as he cycled through lapped traffic. By then, Rothenbacher had regained second but remained a half straightaway back from the leader. Tye Wilke had just taken second with three to go when rookie Evan Hendrickson’s throttle stuck, sending him into the stands on the west end. Ferriera led the final three laps to score his first win at River Cities over Wilke, Rothenbacher, Hanten, and Dylan Waxdahl. Cole Greseth and Greg Jose led the 20-lap Big Al’s Construction Street stock feature to green. Greseth led the opening circuit over Jose, though the pair and remained within a car length in the first five laps.Seth Klostreich battled Weston Ramsrud for third before the midway point as Greseth continued to lead. Greseth’s lead was still only five car lengths before the only caution of the race with seven to go. On the restart, Ramsrud took second from Jose which allowed Greseth to pull away in the closing laps. Greseth won his fifth of the year at the speedway over Jose, Klostreich, Ramsrud, and Halvorson. 410 Sprints - Winged A Feature 1 (25 Laps): 1. 8H-Jade Hastings[2]; 2. 8-Jack Croaker[1]; 3. 64-Andy Pake[16]; 4. 4-Colton Young[7]; 5. 0-Nick Omdahl[3]; 6. 10-Alex Truscinski[5]; 7. 99-Jordan Graham[13]; 8. 1-Amelia Eisenschenk[4]; 9. 52-Adam Sobolik[9]; 10. 14-Tom Egeland[10]; 11. 41T-Travis Strandell[15]; 12. 49-Kim Young[12]; 13.
