By the time the first lap was complete, however, Rory Opp had come from the fourth position to the lead. On lap three, eighth place starter, Rick Schulz, emerged as a threat as he slid into the runner-up position. Schulz went to work on Opp as the two drove nose to tail, running the mid-lane of the speedway, but right behind them was a hungry Travis Robertson in third.
Robertson had his IRET Properties #10R glued to the bottom of the track and he was eating up the distance between himself and the leaders each circuit. The caution was displayed with five laps to go and reset the field. On the ensuing Evergreen Insurance restart, Robertson went back to the bottom, but lost a ton of ground on Opp and Schulz as a result. Robertson then changed his line to the same groove as the leaders. With three to go, Robertson went back to the low lane in one last attempt to go for the win; and it worked. The 2014 WISSOTA Street Stock Rookie of the Year caught Opp and Schulz in a matter of a lap and a half and passed them just as quick. Once out front, Robertson altered his line to prevent any run Opp might have and cruised to the victory. "I was originally running the bottom and just lost a ton of ground," said Robertson of the final restart. "So I moved up top to try to catch them again and I decided to try the bottom one more time. I realized there was enough traction for me to get by them so I just kept it down there until I knew I had the lead." Robertson has now won three of the last four RCS Street Stock races and has a total of 10 wins on the season.
