All of us at River Cities Speedway extend our most sincere condolences to the entire Jason Johnson Racing family.
Johnson was a five-time ASCS National Tour champion and 2016 Knoxville Nationals champion. Johnson's first and only World of Outlaws win in the state of North Dakota came at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo on August 19th, 2017. According to press issued by the World of Outlaws: "During Lap 18 of the Jim Boyd Memorial at Beaver Dam Raceway, Johnson was involved in a crash battling for the lead on the backstretch of the third-mile oval. Emergency crews quickly attended to the situation and transported Johnson via air to Aurora Medical Center, where he later succumbed to the injuries. Johnson, 41, of Eunice, LA, is survived by his wife Bobbi and five-year-old son Jaxx." Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his friends and family. Due to a heavy shot of rain, the races for tonight have been canceled. See you next Friday!
The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints were 25 cars strong for their 25-lap Blazin’ Challenge qualifier. Jordan Adams grabbed the lead from the pole position as Cale Mack filed into second. The red flag was quickly displayed as Trevor Mell got upside down in turn three. He was ok.
Dustin Strand wasted no time getting to the front of the Performance Auto Late Model feature en route to his second win of the season at River Cities Speedway. Strand wheeled his way from sixth to second in just two laps before he set his sights on Troy Schill for the lead.
