GRAND FORKS, ND (June 17) - Tonight the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Cars take on River Cities Speedway for the 10th consecutive year and 16th time overall in series history. Names like Schatz, Saldana, Dollansky, and Kinser - both Steve and Kraig - have parked their machines in RydellCars.com Victory Lane after the grueling 40-lap feature over the years. However, there is one fan favorite missing from that list and many are saying that this is the year that driver can get the job done. By Mike Spieker
GRAND FORKS, ND (May 6) - Mike Balcaen is the second-most winningest driver in River Cities Speedway history, but the Canadian pilot hadn’t visited RydellCars.com Victory Lane since June 20, 2014. There has been several instances since then were Balcaen has put his Black Diamond #10 in position to pick up a win, but blown motors, late-race cautions, flat tires, and even a rock puncturing the radiator while leading has kept him out of the winners circle. GRAND FORKS, ND (April 22) - Brad Seng made history Friday night during River Cities Speedway's preseason Test N Tune. About midway through the night, Seng ran a lap of 11.514 seconds averaging 93.798mph around a very fast and tacky 3/10th mile bullring. The lap shattered the previous track record of 11.756 seconds set by World of Outlaw Late Model driver, Rick Eckert, on July 10th, 2009. What's even more impressive is the fact that Seng was running his WISSOTA spec engine, unlike Eckert who set the track record with an open motor. The 2016 racing season kicks off next Friday night, April 29th, with NOSA Sprint Cars, WISSOTA Late Models, Midwest Modifieds, and Street Stocks. Green flag drops at 7pm! John Halvorson went for a vicious tumble Friday night during the preseason Test N Tune. It was thought that something broke on Halvorson's #35 machine, which got the car out of shape entering turn one and sent it into a nasty barrel roll. Thankfully, John was reported to be uninjured.
