Schill's Win Streak Continues in the Happy Harry's Midwest Mods

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 4, 2017) – The start of the Happy Harry’s Midwest Modified feature was plagued by caution flags. However, once the race had a nice green flag stretch, Ricky Hamel emerged as the leader with Jeremy Lizakowski and Eric Haugland running second and third, respectively.

With five laps in the books, Nate Reynolds and Lance Schill replaced Lizakowski and Haugland in second and third. Schill took the runner-up spot from Reynolds on lap six as he set his sights on Hamel for the lead.

Schill quickly erased Hamel’s seven car length advantage as the Langdon, N.D. driver rode the rim around River Cities Speedway high banks. With seven to go, Schill drove by Hamel on the outside to take the lead.

Hamel remained a threat in the closing laps as Schill was mired in heavy lapped traffic. The final caution of the race flew with four laps to go, but once the race resumed, Schill drove away from the field. With clean track ahead, Schill went on to secure his fifth consecutive feature win and third in a row at River Cities. Hamel, Todd Johnson, Haugland, and Austin Hunter rounded out the top five.
