This Week's Driver Interview and Profile:
"5 laps with Mitch Mack"
Brian: Mitch who are your sponsors this year for the 2013 season?
Mitch: Magic City Drywall - Minot, ND,
Dahlstom Motors - Oslo, MN,
Surface Pride - East Grand Forks, MN
FM Truck Sales - Moorhead, MN
Go Blocks - Grand Forks, ND,
Phil Mickelson & Associates - Warren, MN
and Barry Maddox Signs & Lettering.
Brian: You are a 3rd generation driver in the legendary Mack family how has this affected your racing?
Mitch: Well, I'm in my 3rd full season in a Sprint, it's a constant learning experience day in and day out.
Brian: Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?
Mitch: Well, I'm a firm believer that if you can't win at home you aren't ready to go anywhere else. Hopefully soon we can start winning a few races.
Brian: Do you feel car appearance is as important as horsepower?
Mitch: Well, I like to keep my equipment looking nice and with the way people are around here, it's a little different, I feel like I have to prove something, so yes the car has to look presentable on race day.
Brian: How important is horsepower and do you believe it is a must to have the same engines that the World of Outlaws has with 900 horsepower?
Mitch: Yes, you gotta have power without a doubt, You will not win with an under powered engine. More so in the heats when the track is wet, not so much so when the track has dried off and capped over. But not quite 900 horsepower.
Thanks to Mitch Mack for his time and sharing his view on racing at River Cities Speedway with the fans. We encourage the fans to meet and get to know the drivers after each race night. You will most likely find they are glad to see you and encourage anyone going into the pits, to think safety as sometimes the cars will still parts that are hot
after coming off the track.
