GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 26, 2017) – Jason Halverson took the lead early on in the Happy Harry’s Midwest Modified feature. Halverson, who drove by Joe Henninger for the lead on lap two of 18, led the final 17 circuits in a caution plagued race.
Following a seven car incident on lap five, a separate seven car pile up occurred on the ensuing Evergreen Insurance restart as Zach Dockter got into Dallas Brevik.

The contact sent Brevik hard into the outside retaining wall. The impact threw the ride side of his machine three to four feet in the air as it climbed the concrete wall, while several other cars piled into Dockter.

Halverson was chased by Todd Johnson in the final laps, with Nate Reynolds within striking distance. Johnson closed to the rear bumper of Halverson, but wasn’t able to mount a serious charge on the No. 111.

Halverson went on to score his first career River Cities Speedway win.
