Blacklance and Schill Continue Strong SeasonsGrand Forks, N.D. (July 30, 2022) - The month of July is now complete at the Bullring, and among Friday's stories of triumph include Portland, N.D. hotshoe Jason Strand, who picked up his first Cirrus Aircraft Late Model feature win, while Aaron Blacklance and Lance Schill continued hot streaks. Jason Strand and Ryan Corbett brought the NLRA Late Model feature to green following an opening lap pileup. Corbett took the early lead, and had built a reasonably solid lead in front of the field through five laps. From there, Strand started reeling in the veteran Corbett, taking the lead on the ninth lap. As Strand worked lapped traffic, eighth starting Brad Seng made it past Joey Pederson for third, and reeled in Corbett for the runner-up spot in the closing circuits. Strand continued on to his first Late Model win at the Bullring over Seng, Corbett, Pederson, and Brody Troftgruben. Jeremy Lizakowski and Austin Hunter paced the Happy Harry's Midwest Mods at the beginning of their 20 lap main event. Hunter got the early lead, bringing Lance Schill with him into the second spot.
Schill immediately moved to Hunter's inside, going door-to-door with the Manitoba native for the lead for a couple laps. Schill held the lead as he worked lapped traffic past the halfway point of the race, and continued on to his fifth Midwest Mod win of the season. Nate Raasakka, Jamie Dietzler, and Matt Schow made up the rest of the top five in the green-to-checker event that went just five minutes and 44 seconds. Alex Truscinski and Colorado's Chris Crowder led the POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning sprints at the start of their fourth appearance at the Bullring in 2022. Third time's the charm getting a good clean lap in the books as Truscinski led Crowder and Kelsi Pederson. Truscinski kept the top spot while working lapped traffic through the halfway mark of the 20 lapper. Truscinski continued on to victory over Pederson, who made the pass on Crowder for second in the closing laps. Dexter Dvergsten and Dylan Langevin were fourth and fifth. Aaron Blacklance and Seth Klostreich led the 20 lap Big Al's Construction Street Stock feature to green, and it was Klostreich leading nearly the entire first half of the race. A three wide battle between Klostreich, Blacklance, and John Halvorson saw Blacklance take the top spot with 10 down and 10 remaining. From that point on, Blacklance cruised to victory over Halvorson and Klostreich. Greg Jose and Dan McNamee completed the top five.
