Dobmeier Locked into B main, Kennedy Represents Canada in World Challenge Race. Kennedy & Shirek Re-qualify Friday for Saturday's Mains KNOXVILLE, IA - 8/9/13 - With an entry list of over 100 cars strong, 3 NOSA Sprint drivers are making an impact at the 53rd annual FVP 2013 Knoxville Nationals, at Knoxville Raceway.
Mark Dobmeier qualified strong at 21st quick with a 114 mph average lap, and making the A-main with a 2nd in his heat and finishing the night at 14th in the A-Main. Thomas Kennedy came to race with a qualifying time at 24th quick and ending up 8th in the B-main. Chris Shirek struggled through the evening and finishing 22nd in the B-Main. Mark Dobmeier and WoO standout Donny Schatz are locked into Saturday's B main. Meanwhile Shirek and Kennedy will re-qualify tonight for positioning into Saturday's alphabet soup of mains on Saturday Night. Kennedy is also representing Canada in the $10,000 to win SPEED SPORT World Challenge which will be held as the finale to Friday's qualifying. Donny Schatz is also in the field representing the USA.
