Twenty-five Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA 410 Sprint Cars made up the field for the 25-lap main event. The father-son duo of Brenden and Zach Wilde led the field to the green, but third place starter Cory Mack led the opening circuit.

The man on the move in the early going was Winninpeg, Manitoba’s Lou Kennedy Jr., who moved into second on lap seven from his seventh place starting spot. Kennedy chased the Miracle Ear #25 of Mack until a hard charging Mark Dobmeier got by him on lap eight. Ten laps in, the leaders found themselves in heavy lapped traffic and that is where Dobmeier took advantage. The driver of the Big Trucks by Jimco #13 dove to the low side of Mack in turn two and was able to clear him for the lead down the back straightaway as he had Kennedy in tow.

Just two laps later, Jackson Moffett lost the right rear tire directly in front of the leaders. Dobmeier had contact with Moffett and spun towards the infield. In an attempt to keep the engine from stalling, Dobmeier kept his foot on the throttle and did five complete donuts before he regained control of his machine and took his place back atop the field.

Once the green was displayed, Dobmeier found his groove up on the cushion and drove off to his 114th career win at the Grand Forks bullring. Lou Kennedy Jr. came home second, while Jade Hastings drove all the way from 16th to third.

“I tell you what, that was definitely an action packed race. Hats off to the River Cities Speedway track crew, they had a real racy surface tonight,” said Dobmeier after the race. “There was a bottom groove and a top groove so it was tough to decide which lane to choose on the restart, but I’m a top guy so I stuck with the high side. Luckily I was able to start in different spots and surprise them a little bit and it all worked out.”
