GRAND FORKS, ND (June 17) - Tonight the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Cars take on River Cities Speedway for the 10th consecutive year and 16th time overall in series history. Names like Schatz, Saldana, Dollansky, and Kinser - both Steve and Kraig - have parked their machines in RydellCars.com Victory Lane after the grueling 40-lap feature over the years. However, there is one fan favorite missing from that list and many are saying that this is the year that driver can get the job done.
It’s Mark Dobmeier; River Cities Speedway’s winningest driver with 117 career wins. What’s different about this year compared to previous years is the amount of momentum Dobmeier is riding coming into Friday night’s World of Outlaws event.

He already has three wins at the 3/10th mile bullring in 2016, hasn’t finished worse than second, and just set the fastest 25-laps ever recorded at RCS last Friday night. On top of that, he also has the $27,000+ Badlands Motor Speedway Silver Shootout win to his credit.

“The confidence is up right now,” said Dobmeier. “We have a great team, car and crew. We definitely have everything we need to get the job done. We just need to put it together and bring it home.”

Dobmeier has three World of Outlaws wins in his career, but an Outlaws win at River Cities is still his number one priority.

“We’ve beat the Outlaws a few times in the past, but nothing would mean more to me than to get one at my home track on Friday night. I would literally give up a Knoxville Nationals win to get this one.

“We’ve been close in years past and you can feel the electricity in the place. I can’t imagine what the feeling would be like if we could pull it off.”

Getting an Outlaws win comes down to having more than just a fast car, says Dobmeier.
“You have to have a good car, good motor, a good crew behind you, and a good driver. The other thing that you need is to have a little luck on your side that night also. With how important your qualifying lap is now with the format, I’m going to need to lay down a fast lap and just let the racing take over from there.”

Find out if Dobmeier can upset the best Sprint Car drivers in the country tonight at River Cities Speedway. For event and ticket information, visit SLSpromotions.com.
