Happy Harry's WISSOTA Midwest Modified recap, presented by RydellCars.comBy Mike Spieker GRAND FORKS, ND (August 28) - The opening lap of the Happy Harry’s WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature got off to a rocky start as Jordan Wahl was collected by a car that spun in turn two. Wahl was tagged in the right rear, which forced his #47 to bicycle on the left side wheels and launched him off the banking at full speed. Wahl came to a sudden stop off the track as he nailed the water barrels and sent water flying up about 30 feet in the air. Wahl was OK after the incident, but retired his machine back to the trailer. Another Evergreen Insurance restart put the race back under the green flag as Matt Schow took the point from his outside front row starting position. By lap seven, Schow had a full straightaway advantage over Scott Vasichek and Preston Carr. On the following lap, Carr spun in turn four and collected point leader, Ricky Hamel. Carr rebounded to finish sixth, while Hamel was credited with a DNF and a 20th place finish. It came down to a green-white-checkered finish between Schow, Ryan Schroeder, and Lance Schill. Schroeder and Schill battled door to door for second as the green flag flew, which allowed Schow to drive off with his third consecutive win. Schroeder beat Schill to the line as Vasichek and Hunter Hougard rounded out the top five.
