Schill and Anderson Score Tour VictoriesBy Mike Spieker GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 17, 2022) - It was a night to remember for the Pederson Racing camp of father, Joey, and his kids, Kelsi and Tucker. Joey raced to the victory in the Late Model feature while Kelsi picked up the Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint feature, presented by Olson Underground. Tucker nearly capped off the sweep with a win the Big Al’s Construction Street Stock main event, featuring the Steffe’s Street Stock Tour. It looked as though there would be a first time winner in the Cirrus Aircraft Late Models and sophomore driver Greg Friestad was strong early on. Friestad led without challenge for the first half of the race until a hard charging Joey Pederson came from sixth to battle Friestad for the point. Friestad ran the middle groove around the quarter-mile bullring while Pederson worked his patented low groove. The two drivers ran door-to-door for several laps without touching before Pederson eventually cleared for the lead. Pederson went on to take the win - his first of the season - while Brody Troftgruben, Brad Seng, Friestad and Lance Schill rounded out the top five. Kelsi Pederson took advantage of a late race caution to take the lead of the Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint feature. Pederson made the move around Weston Olson with four laps to go to take the point and earn a trip to RydellCars.com Victory Lane. The Big Al’s Construction Street Stocks, featuring the Steffe’s Street Stock Tour took the green for 25 big laps with a 23 car field. Tucker Pederson quickly took the lead on lap three from his third starting position and looked to be the class of the field. Pederson maintained a slim, yet comfortable lead for the majority of the feature as he attempted to keep the family streak alive. Unfortunately for Pederson, however, he cut a right rear tire with seven laps to go while leading to bring out the caution. That handed the lead over to Kyle Anderson who cruised to the checkered flag. Thirty Happy Harrys WISSOTA Midwest Mods were checked in for the first Rebel Midwest Mod Tour appearance of the season. The fastest 24 made up the grid for the feature. Lance Schill came into the night undefeated in Midwest Mod action and left River Cities Speedway on Friday night with that streak still in tact. Schill charged from sixth to take the lead on lap two and never looked back. Schill encountered heavy lapped traffic in the closing stages, which allowed Corey Storck to close in, but Schill went on to take the checkers.
