PS Garage Doors Driver of the Night: Dustin Strand

Strand picked up the Late Model feature win and was named the PS Garage Doors "Driver of the Night" for June 12.

GRAND FORKS, ND (June 13) - Dustin Strand of Grand Forks was named Friday night's PS Garage Doors "Driver of the Night" with his River Cities Speedway Late Model victory. 

Strand held the point in the early going of the 20 lap feature, but was overtaken by Joey Pederson on lap eight. Strand searched high and low around the 3/10th mile bullring in attempt to get back by Pederson for the lead, but it was to no avail. 

In the blink of an eye, however, Strand's night got whole lot better as Pederson hooked a rut in turn one and spun off the banking. Strand inherited the lead for the restart with just four laps to go. The former NLRA series champion held off Bill Mooney and Brad Seng throughout the final circuits and took the checkers.

The win was Strand's 52nd career win at River Cities and third career RCS Late Model win, which ties him with his father, Brian, for 16th on the all-time Late Model wins list.
