Wells Concrete WISSOTA Street Stock recap, presented by RydellCars.comBy Mike Spieker GRAND FORKS, ND (August 28) - The Wells Concrete WISSOTA Street Stocks were 17 cars strong for their 15 lap main event. Travis Robertson and Ryan Flaten entered the night second and third in the standings, separated by just one point. Flaten lined up on the pole with Robertson to his outside as Flaten took the lead at the drop of the green flag. Robertson settled into second as Bryce Reimer moved into third. Robertson was all over the B&M Masonry #50 in the early going, but Flaten stretched out to a comfortable lead by lap five.
At the halfway point a caution put the field right on Flaten’s rear bumper. On the Evergreen Insurance restart Rick Schulz, who was fresh of a win at Norman County Raceway the previous night, challenged Robertson for the runner-up spot. Robertson prevailed and set out to track down Flaten. The yellow flew one more time with three to go, giving Robertson one last chance at Flaten, but the veteran Street Stock driver never budged as Flaten parked it in RydellCars.om Victory Lane for the second time in 2015. “Anytime you can beat (Robetson) you’re doing something right,” said Flaten after the win. With one points paying event left at RCS, Flaten sits in second just eight points behind Jim Geringer, but he isn’t worried about the track championship.
