Street Stock Veteran, Terry BlackLance, to Wheel Late Model This Season
By Mike Spieker
GRAND FORKS, ND (April 28) - The driver of the fan favorite #105 station-wagon Street Stock is trading in his "Grocery Getter" for a high octane, dirt slinging NLRA Late Model.
"I've always been a fan of Late Models and it's been a dream of mine to drive one," said BlackLance. "I'm most excited to be a part of the premiere class at River Cities Speedway. The pure power of the car is going to be awesome."
BlackLance began his racing career in enduro cars when he was only 15, then moved up to the Hobby Stock division at the old Grand Forks Speedway. On May 24th, 2002, he claimed his first Street Stock win at the Bullring.
The Thief River Falls, MN driver says he's more than ready to make the transition.
"I'm 48-years-old and not getting any younger. I figured I better do this before I can't get in and out of a car anymore," continued BlackLance. "Honestly, it's about time I join the guys that I used to race with in the Super Stocks, like Brad (Seng) and Joey (Pederson)."
BlackLance's sharp looking ride is backed by a number of sponsors which consist of:
Farmer's Union Oil Co. (Thief River Falls)
A&W (Thief River Falls)
Miesen Flooring (Fargo)
Transformations of Los Angelos
Happy Joe's (Crookston)
Racing at River Cities Speedway kicks off Friday, May 1st. Hot Laps start at 6:30 with racing at 7:00.
