GRAND FORKS, ND (July 10) - The 30 car WoO Late Model field was trimmed to the fastest 24 for the 50 lap, $10,000-to-win A-main. Chub Frank and WoO point leader, Shane Clanton, led the thunderous pack to the green flag.

Clanton grabbed the advantage on the high side, but Frank came back on lap three to take over the point with a pass on the high side. The leaders held the positions until they reached lapped traffic on lap 14. That’s when hometown driver, Dustin Strand, began making his moves. Strand drove by Clanton for the second position and had a huge run on Frank. Once again, the enormous crowd rose to its feet as Strand chased down Frank for the lead. Strand put his Millenium #71 into the lead as they exited turn two. The crowd could be heard over the roar of the engines as the Grand Forks driver came around to lead lap 15. Seventh place starter, Tim McCreadie, was on a rail, however, and headed right to the front. McCreadie also got by Frank on lap 15 and chased down Strand for the lead. After a long and spirited battled, the 2007 RCS WoO Late Model winner finally prevailed on lap 27 and checked out from the field.

Strand remained in the top five until he and Josh Richards made contact, which punctured a hole in the left rear tire of the Anderson Brother’s Body Shop #71. Strand was credited with a 20th place finish.

Tim McCreadie took the win over Richards, Donny Schatz, Brandon Overton, and Shane Clanton.

"I was just worried about the #71 (Strand)," said McCreadie after the race. "He could really maneuver and it seemed like every time I went to the top, we was right there with me. I thought, 'Man, I might not be able to clear him.' So I had to rough him up a little bit to get by, but we haven't won in a while," McCreadie concluded with a laugh.
