By Mike Spieker GRAND FORKS, ND (May 22) - Since picking up a feature win on opening night at Devils Lake Speedway on April 25th, Travis Robertson of Moorehead, MN has had some trouble finding victory lane again. ![]()
It hasn't been due to poor performance, however, as Robertson seems to always be up front.
All that changed Friday night at River Cities Speedway as Robertson absolutely dominated the 15 lap, 17 car Wells Concrete Street Stock feature. Robertson, the 2014 WISSOTA Street Stock Rookie of the Year, jumped out to the early lead at the drop of the green flag and established a full straightaway lead by lap three. Meanwhile Rick Schulz, Jim Geringer, Ryan Flaten, and Heath Corneliusen put on a heated battle for the runner up position. Rick Schulz ultimately claimed the spot with six laps to go, but he was already a half lap behind Robertson. Robertson had amassed such a commanding lead that when the checkers flew, Schulz pulled into RydellCars.com Victory Lane thinking he had won the race. The win was Robertson's third at River Cities Speedway and second of 2015.
