Travis Robertson gets win #18 on the season

GRAND FORKS, ND (September 10) - The Wells Concrete WISSOTA Street Stocks were 19 cars strong for their 20 lap main event. Travis Robertson and Dan McNamee brought the field to the Valley Sunrise Properties Flagstand for the green flag. Robertson and Rick Schulz moved into the first two positions on lap one as Ryan Johnson, McNamee, Ryan Flaten, and the 2015 RCS track champion, Jim Geringer, all battled for third.

On lap three, Flaten made an impressive move to go from fifth to third in one corner, but on the following lap Flaten looped his B&M Masonry #50 on the low side of turn one to bring out the caution. On the ensuing Evergreen Insurance restart, Schulz got loose in turn three and spun his Sander’s Metal Products #4s to bring out the caution once again. Schulz was forced to tag the rear of the field after running in the second position. As the race resumed, Robertson gradually stretched out his advantage over Johnson. Johnson made a charge in the late stages of the race, but the second-year Street Stock pilot drove like a veteran and held off Johnson to claim his sixth River Cities triumph of 2015.

The win was Robertson eighth overall at RCS, which ties him with Dave Wittner for eight on the RCS Street Stock wins list.
