GRAND FORKS, ND (June 19) - Just when you thought Sammy Swindell's long and illustrious career had come to an end, he jumps right back into a Sprint Car and goes racing.
Swindell has partnered with Jason Johnson Racing to drive the Mesilla Valley Transportation #41 while driver, Jason Johnson, recovers from injuries he suffered in an incident back in April.
It didn't take long for Swindell to prove that he's still got it. On Wednesday night at Granite City Speedway in Sauk Rapids, MN, Swindell not only set quick time during time trials, but he also laid down a new track record.
The three-time World of Outlaw champion has one win at River Cities Speedway, which came back on August 17, 2012.
Tonight's World of Outlaw Sprint Car event kicks off with hot laps at 6:30 and time trials at 7:00. Joining the Outlaws will be the NLRA Late Models.
