GRAND FORKS, N.D. (November 30, 2023) – The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series released their 2024 schedule this afternoon, which boasts an 86-race slate, featuring a pair of shows at River Cities Speedway.
The Outlaws will make their 32nd appearance at the high-banked bullring on June 7th as Gerdau presents the First Leg of the Northern Tour. The Greatest Show on Dirt will return to Grand Forks on August 23rd for the Second Leg of the Northern Tour, also presented by Gerdau.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (November 17, 2023) – The World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Models Series will return to River Cities Speedway in 2024 for the 16th consecutive year. The national dirt late model touring series event is slated for Friday, June 28th.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (December 18, 2018) – Former NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series star, Kasey Kahne, will be making his first-ever appearance at River Cities Speedway during the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series’ first visit of the season on June 7th. The event is a part of an aggressive 50-plus winged Sprint Car race schedule for the Enumclaw, Washington native. Kahne retired from NASCAR competition in 2018 after a 15-year career that yielded 18 Cup series wins. Kasey Kahne Racing (KKR) drivers have claimed three World of Outlaws wins at the Bullring. Joey Saldana visited victory lane in the series’ first appearance in 2007 and again in 2010. Most recently, Daryn Pittman scored a River Cities Speedway win for KKR in 2014. Full-time World of Outlaws driver for KKR, Brad Sweet, will return to the Outlaws tour again in 2019 in his NAPA Auto Parts No. 49 entry. Sweet finished second in the standings in 2018. The series will return to Grand Forks following the Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa on Friday, August 16th. In one of the most memorable World of Outlaws races at River Cities, North Dakota natives Donny Schatz and Mark Dobmeier finished one-two back in August. The win for Schatz was his seventh at the three-tenths-mile clay oval in the last eight starts. Dobmeier charged his way from the 17th starting position to challenge Schatz in the closing stages before finishing second. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series first competed at River Cities Speedway in 2007, with Joey Saldana picking up the win in the inaugural event. A total of eight drivers have been victorious at the track with the series over the last 11 years. To ensure a smooth transition, patrons who purchased advance tickets last year from River Cities Speedway, will have the opportunity to purchase those same seats, before they go on sale to the general public. SLS Promotions will work to accommodate patrons to place them in the same seats or as close as possible to that patron’s seating preference from 2017. GRAND FORKS, N.D. (December 8, 2016) - For the 20th and 21st time in series history, the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series will return to the legendary bullring, River Cities Speedway. The first date will come Friday, June 16th and will also feature the NLRA Late Models as a co-headliner. The second leg of the Northern Tour will come later in the year on August 18th, where the NLRA Late Models will once again share the stage with the nation’s premier Sprint Car touring series. 2017 will mark the eighth consecutive year the "Greatest Show on Dirt" makes multiple appearances to the Grand Forks, N.D. bullring. Donny Schatz has been absolutely dominant at River Cities as of late, winning six of the last eight features in World of Outlaws competition. GRAND FORKS, ND (July 10) - They say the first win of the season is the hardest to get, but once you get the first, the next ones come easier. Although he's ran up front all season long, Austin Pierce is certainly proving that true. It took the defending series champion until early July to pick up his first win of the season (last Saturday at Greenbush Race Park), but Pierce backed it up Friday night at River Cities Speedway by claiming his second consecutive checkered flag. |
